Coffee Fest Hong Kong Print E-mail
This week I am off to Hong Kong for Coffee Fest.  It will be quite an adventure, as I will be both emceeing the latte art competition as well  teaching the latte art classes.  I just got the list of competitors today and will definitely be working on the pronunciation before I go and even more once I get there.  I'm really excited to see what the competitors decide to pour.

In the past when I've been to Asia it always seemed as though the baristas were much stronger in etching, but I'm sure everyone entered will be great at free pour as well.  I'm hoping to see a few pours I haven't seen before.  I'll be sure to take pictures of anything I see I post them up.

The winner of this past Coffee Fest Seattle, Hiroshi Sawaka, will be judging this competition.  As someone who has competed eight times I'm sure he will do a great job.  I'm not sure who the other judges are, but I do know we have a full roster with 20 competitors each day.

After the competition each day I move on to teaching latte art.  Teaching is one of my favorite things to do.  I love working with baristas and seeing them pour their first rosetta.  I mean hearts come relatively easy, but rosettas require work and you never really forget that first rosetta.
