Coffee lovers have a winner in their midst. Coffee Klatch has been named by the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) as a winner of the TOPS award for excellence in specialty coffee retailing for the current year. This award is given to only 35 of 10,000 coffee houses worldwide.

Latte Art

Heather Perry of Coffee Klatch Roasting in San Dimas CA., won the Western Regional Barista Competition held at Roshombo Winery, February 21st 2005.  Barista’s are the coffee bartenders who serve up your latte, cappuccino, and specialty coffee drinks at your favorite coffee bar.

The competition featured the Top Baristi from all of California and Hawaii.   Heather is the 2003 United States Barista Champion and the defending Western Regional Champion.  Heather will represent Coffee Klatch and the Western Region in the United States Championships in Seattle later this year. 

During the competition, each Baristi prepares 4 espresso, 4 cappuccino, and 4 specialty drinks to a panel of judges from around the United States.  According to Heather: the key to her success was an espresso blend she helped roast specifically for this competition.
